Tokei Man

Rather than ask what the Tokei Man is, it might be better to ask when the Tokei Man is.

Almost everything about this creature is a mystery — including when it is.

The answer to that might be “a little bit from now” or “a little while ago.”

And that encapsulates the mystery. Apparently a man or a man-shaped creature, Tokei Man is difficult to see because he appears out of synchronization with the current moment.

He sometimes seems to move too early, and sometimes too late. He lags, then skips, and later lags again.

That has its benefits though, meaning he is more difficult to hit, since he’s not where he appears to be, and strikes out of the place he appears.

That accounts for his high Attack and Guard ratings.

And it also makes for a challenging monster with no “traditional” magical abilities.
