A golem is a golem is a golem; a golem by any other name would still be an artificial creature designed to follow the instructions of its maker … even into battle.
There are dozens of golems, all of different type and material. Iron Golems are unique only in the senses that they are made completely of iron … and have bad dispositions.
Perhaps it is the magic that binds it, and perhaps it is simply the quality of iron that causes its foul temper.
In any case, an Iron Golem is usually itching for a fight.
And considering their strength and constitution, they are well equipped for a battle. A full 5 points of Guard, 6 points of Attack and an Iron Golem will be a match for any other 15-point monster, magical or not.
Which brings us to the other odd point about Iron Golems: For all their magical origins, they themselves are not endowed with any magical ability.
Not even a defensive bonus, aside from their considerable Guard rating.
And while they’re no pushover, that lack of magical imbuement might explain why they always seem to be in bad moods. …
